ABOUT THE CARMEL CHAMELEON

This Carmel Chameleon is currently the only African-American Actress to simultaneously hold recurring roles on THREE network shows.  On the Disney channel, Carla is”Marcie Blue” opposite  tv husband Phil Morris and kids Zendaya and Roshon Fegan on the #1 teen sitcom…SHAKE IT UP! 

Meanwhile, over at the CW she plays opposite HART OF DIXIE star Rachel Bilson as Bluebell’s one and only hairstylist…”Susie”.  Last, but not least she plays the sister to Toks Olagoundoye (aka jackie Joyner Kersee) on the new Dan Fogelman ABC comedy THE NEIGHBORS. Other Guest Stars spots include “Modern Family”, “Bones”, “CSI”, “New Girl”, “Mr. Box Office” and many, many more.

No stranger to Broadway, she was last seen playing “Gary Coleman” (yes…THAT Gary Coleman) in the Tony Award winning musical “Avenue Q”.  Carla has also appeared on Broadway and/or regionally in “The Lion King”(NAACP Theatre Award Nominee), “Smokey Joe’s Cafe “(Broadway and Australia),”How To Succeed in Business Without Really Trying”, and “The Who’s Tommy”.

Her vocal prowess has been heard on numerous commercials and onstage as a background vocalist for Michael Bolton, Tracy Chapman, the late Phoebe Snow and OK GO.  On the Disneyworld “Harry Potter” ride, you will recognize her as the voice of “Shenzi” from “The Lion King” and in the #1 videogame of all time “Grand Theft Auto”.
